Today we take a ride through Kutjevo Vineyards, part Požega Valley - a geographical microregion of Slavonia. 800 acres of vineyards occupy this area, while it is characterized by a semi humid continental climate.

This ride is provided courtesy of the Papuk GeoPark, a UNESCO protected GeoPark that includes the upland forests of the Papuk and Krndija mountains, and edges of agricultural fields.

  • Length: 12.2 kilometers

  • Start: Venje, chapel

  • Finish: Venje, chapel

  • Minimum Elevation: 250 meters

  • Maximum Elevation: 501 meters

  • Elevation Gain: 308 meters

The Vine trail is a circular trail that is 12.4 km long. The larger part of trail follows the macadam path (forest roads and vineyard paths) and the only smaller part of the trail is the asphalt road that leads through villages.

The trail begins from the center of Venje village (near the chapel). During the first 3.5 km of the Vine trail, you will pass through Gornji Mitrovac and Donji Mitrovac and then turn left. After entering the forest, you will ride another 1.5 km where Labrusca trail leaves the Vine trail. The Vine trail then continues uphill for 600 meters beside Ilidžanski stream. The next 3.5 km of the trail follows an easy and smooth forest road - the end of the forest road is also the highest point of the trail. Here you will turn left (south), on the forest path that leads fairly steep through the forest towards the vineyards. When you exit forest, you will be met with a stunning view of the vineyards. The trail then continues through the vineyards for the next 2 km. When you reach Hrnjevac village is where the trail meets trails No. 1 and No. 2. Head East, towards Venje village. When you reach Venje, turn left and ride until you reach the chapel where it all began.
