Break Free from Fossil Fuels” will take place on March 12, 2017 in Zagreb.

The first major climate protest in Croatia, this critical mass in Zagreb begins this year's global wave of peaceful protests against fossil fuels and climate change. A worldwide effort to fight climate change, ”Break Free from Fossil Fuels" will open up a range of non-violent actions, events and gatherings in more than 40 countries on 6 continents.

The Union of Cyclists (Sindikat biciklista), Greenpeace Croatia and Green Action / FoE Croatia invite citizens, organizations, and initiatives to join the global movement to ”Break Free from Fossil Fuels". Governments and corporations continue to allow the use of fossil fuels that cause climate change, pollute the environment, pose health risks and lead to human rights violations. This critical mass is organized in order to find an urgent transition from coal, oil, and gas to 100% renewable energy and consequently, adopt to high-quality and low-carbon development strategies.

The critical mass will start from the courtyard of the Technical Museum of Nikola Tesla where the Futurama Redux - Urban Mobility After Cars & Oil exhibition is being held. The cycle will end at Klub Močvara where participants will await a pleasant Sunday afternoon of socializing and music.

Cycling is an example of how to live and move in a sustainable way. Everyone is invited to join this critical mass!

Meeting location and time: Technical Museum of Nikola Tesla, Sunday, March 12, 16:00
