Category: XC+Road
Length (km): 38
Ascent (m): 1594

Direction: Senj-Oltari-Zavižan

This route is part of the traditional ascent to Zavižan organised by BBK Senj and NP North Velebit that takes place in June. Depending on the physical preparation of participants, start 1 is at sea level in Senj, start 2 is in Oltari at 930 metres above sea level. The route is 38 kilometres long, starting from the Adriatic road in centre of Senj, following the main road south and then after 1 kilometre turns left onto Trbušnjak hill, climbing to Rončević Dolac village (6 km from start). This section is paved and very demanding due to steep ascent. At 10 km from start (1 km after Nekić village) the route turns left towards Oltari. This section is mostly gravel, with 2.5 km of paved road before Oltari. From Oltari (start 2) the route takes 250 m towards Krasno, turning right onto paved road towards NP North Velebit (around 7.5 km), turning onto gravel road at Babić Siča (around 9 km) all the way to the last 650 m ascent via paved road to mountain lodge Zavižan where the finish is.
