The Zadar County Tourist Office (TZZŽ) has carried out a long-term project for the development of cyclo-tourism under the name Zadar Bike Magic (ZBM).

Cyclo-tourism today has the highest growth rate of all tourism products in the market of special interest. Estimates suggest that cyclo-tourism encompasses a market of almost 60 million. Recreational cyclists in Europe make over 2 billion cycling trips a year, and the monetary value is worth about 44 billion euros. It is also estimated that 6-8% of all travel arrangements in Europe in some way include bike, reports HRTurizam on February 26, 2017.

"A very important stage of the project is to open the Zadar Bike Magic platform to entities that create an offer as a tourist product by offering service providers. Therefore, the inclusion of commercial operators see this as a vital link in the creation of a competitive cycling destination,” says the Zadar County Tourist Board, who also invites all existing providers of cyclo-tourism to join the club Zadar Bike Magic, which will, if they meet the required standards defined in the ZBM Book of Standards, be presented as a certified service provider in promotional materials and activities aimed at TZZŽ cyclo-tourists.

The project Zadar Bike Magic consists of 7 stages, which incorporates a variety of activities from analysis of the destination itself in the tourist and cyclo-tourist sense, the potential for cyclo-tourism in geography and climate, routing, categorization and classification of bicycle paths and routes, creating a visual identity, labeling, training of local operators and promoting the targeted cyclo-tourism markets. At this stage, there have been 86 standardized, classified routes created into 3 segments - with nearly 3,000 kilometers of trails.

Cyclists can find the available presentations with a simple search of their interests on www.zadarbikemagic.com including GPS data for "download", and specially designed maps.

The call is open until March 8, 2017, and all information is available here.
